Yesterday Lily learnt that candles can go out rather suddenly and that chocolate tastes great. She also learnt how to eat wrapping paper, make footprints and handprints and that you have to wear a poppy sometimes and it is rustly in church.
Yesterday I learnt that dad used to go to the Royal Tournament with his family as a boy, and that it is the best metaphor for describing traffic in Jakarta.
This indicates that the things you learn when you are younger are more practical on the whole than the things you learn when you are older. Also that everybody like a good story. However, I do not know what wrapping paper tastes like, and haven’t made a handprint in a while, so maybe I ought to get in touch with my inner one-year-old.
